Many authors get confused by all the different eBook platforms that are popping up. They also think Amazon is the one and only eBook platform they need. This is not the case at all. Major publishing houses do not use Amazon as their main outlet for eBooks, Amazon is just one outlet. If the big guys think like this then so should the self published author? Basically authors should sign up with as many eBook platforms as they can. But and there is a big but? Most places will not deal with authors directly. This is why for the last few years we have built a great foundation with many companies that we can list books with for our authors, brought about by attending international book fairs and talking to these companies. Places like Bookwire.de the big German company who can get our books into thousands of places. Epubdirect out of Ireland who have a great system. Overdrive the huge USA Library suppliers to name a few. And for those doubting Thomass out there, these companies distribute the big guys eBooks. Unwin and Allen the Aussie publisher uses Bookwire, Random house uses Epubdirect and they all use Overdrive. We have a policy of leaving it up to our authors to choose what level they wish to use, as all are a bit different? And yes these companies also charge for their services, nothing good is free. We are quite happy to talk to any self published author about their book, as we maybe able to help, even if they did not publish with us.
