Many believers in a doctrinal way talk about the church without seeing what the reality of the church is and how important the church is in the sight of God. Thus, as genuine believers of God, we need to see the vision of the church and be cleared concerning it. If we will read the word of God carefully, we will see the great significance and the importance of the church. The church is the heart’s desire of God. The desire of God in this age is to have the church (Ephesians 1:5, 9, 22-23). We must realize that we were saved not for anything and not merely for our personal salvation. We were saved to become part of the church for the building up of the church (Ephesians 1:4-23; 4:11-16). The church is the hidden mystery in God’s eternal economy (Ephesians 1:11, 22-23; 3:4, 9-11; Colossians 2:2). By His first coming the Lord has accomplished His death to carry out an all-inclusive redemption for the producing of the church. After His death and resurrection, the Lord went away and now seated in the right hand of God in the heavenlies waiting and working for the church to be built up to pave the way for His return. The period between the Lord’s first and second coming is the church age. The church thus bridges the gap between the Lord’s first coming and His second appearing in His return. God’s intention in His creation of all things, including man, was that for God to be mingled with man (2Timothy 4:22; 1 Corinthians 6:17) to produce the church as the fullness of the One who fills all in all (Ephesians 1:22-23), fully saturating and permeating man with God (Ephesians 3:19), that God would be expressed and represented in the whole universe through the church and thereby destroying God’s enemy (Genesis 1:26; Romans 16:20). Praise the Lord! The Bible clearly says that, we are the church (1 Timothy 3:15; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; Romans 8:9-11; 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:21-22). We are the desire of God’s heart. Hallelujah!
