Many friends and Pirates do not know that Jimmy Powell is a recording artist and singer. Yesterday at the Haymont Nursing and ReHab center on Bragg Blvd, he gave a fantastic performance of Gospel Music to the residents and Ruby Garner who is my wife Bev Garners mother. He also gave witness about his journey and life that a lot of people do not know. He is married to Geraldine Raynor (cl of 65) and they have a son who is stricken with MS since birth. They love him dearly and have cared for him for 48 years and continue to do so. Jimmy is also a painter and frequently they play his songs on Curts Coffee Club in the mornings as Fayettevilles Singing Painter. I am here to tell you that Jimmy and Geraldine have my utmost admiration and respect. They both are a shining example of true Christian Love. (off my soap box)
