However, most of this slush fund will be spent for other budget items, so the Pentagon will get the same amount as last year, which is more than during the peak or the Vietnam war and more than the peak year of Reagans military spending spree. Reading non-corporate news, one learns the conflict with Russia is over. After Obamas talk of imposing economic sanctions, Russia threatened to sell its $200 billion in U.S. Treasury bonds on the world market, and only accept payment for its exports from non-dollar accounts. President Obama wisely backed away.
