March 17, 2014 – Thought for the Week The Community Garden - TopicsExpress

March 17, 2014 – Thought for the Week The Community Garden has taken a giant leap forward. First it was marking off the area, then digging for the water lines, and preparing the “Rabbit Fencing.” The amount of knowledge being shared in making a concept on paper become a reality is requiring an amazing amount of creative workmanship. “Workmanship”: a good masculine word evoking images of unshaven guys surrounded by tools in their garages, completing do-it-yourself projects with admiring onlookers shaking their heads in amazement. The problem is that the origin of the word is the Greek word poema. Fast-forward to the future and it becomes the English word “poem.” Can you imagine those working on preparing our Community Garden being called “Poem’s”? As the garden comes together, it will always be a work in progress. And everyone will have their own concept of how this Garden Poem is to come to fruition. What our Workmen and Women are creating is a Work in Progress. God has a special fondness for creativity and art of all kinds. Great poets don’t take kindly to other people editing their work. When God crafts a poem, He likes it just as He wrote it. The warning to would-be critics and winnable correctors: “Don’t misinterpret God’s delight with you as your right to deflect all advice and reject all constructive critique. The paradox here is that you’re always a work in progress; but regardless of the stage you’re in, God displays the priceless you in a magnificent frame. So wake up, Mr. or Ms. Poem, Rhyme and Shine.
