Authors may think they have everything covered when they write the final version…but I’m here to say that it isn’t always so. Any worthwhile character will resist if not portrayed just right…and my character, Urana, tells me clearly today that I need to understand her motives better as she grabs her otherworld spouse Alpheius by the throat and reminds him of who puts food on his plate! She leaves him writhing in the dust…. He picks himself up, straightens out his neck, and scurries back to his cave. His powers may be great but he has to eat and she’s the one who says what happens on their mountain, not him! Sometimes, in the heat of a moment, he forgets."
