Masjid al-Aqsa has been under an upsettingly dramatic and violating siege these last few weeks, with the Israeli regime imposing greater restrictions on Palestinians, denying Palestinians entry into the Mosque. Al-Aqsa is the third most religiously significant site for Muslims. Confrontations between Palestinian Worshippers and Israeli Police started six months ago, following the removal of 300 young Palestinians from the mosque by Israeli police in order for Jewish settlers to enter. Jews claim the mosque lies on the site of Temple Mount, the most holy site in Judaism, however many Rabbis, including Israels chief rabbinate, believe that entering Al-Aqsa is a violation of Jewish law. Palestinians have, with great resiliency, been confronting the Israeli regime and staging sit-ins in defense of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Al-Aqsa is being violated and the majority of us Muslims are standing idly by. Zionist soldiers have desecrated Al-Aqsa. They have raided the mosque in order to facilitate Zionists, storming the mosque and clashing with Muslim worshippers who are staging sit-ins in the mosque in order to defend it due to the complete absence of any official or popular Arab reaction. It is as if the mosque is not the first of our Qiblahs and the site of our Prophet Muhammads (peace be upon him) ascension. It is as if Al-Aqsa Mosque is no longer the number one priority of the Muslims and we are no longer committed to defending it or sacrificing all that is precious to us, for its sake.
