Massachusetts On June 28, longtime area blues legend Wildcat OHalloran will present the first annual Wildcat Wendell Bluesfest at Deja Brew as a benefit for FRIENDS OF WENDELL, a grassroots charity group. The patio out back at Deja Brew (Lockes Village rd., Wendell Ma.)will feature appearances by numerous Valley legends including: Wally “Sweet Daddy Cool Breeze” Greaney, Art Steele, Emily Duff (Sax player for The Raft), Charlie Scott of the Reprobates, and youg roots-rocker Buddy McEarns. Wildcats band will provide backing for most of the festivities (“We served as Bo Diddleys backing band, so Im sure were up to the task”). Wildcat will be promoting his new CD “Party Up In Heaven”, which is currently being played on 200 stations worldwide. Wally, who is regularly a featured player with the Ragged Edge as well as with his Sweet Daddy band, has several recordings under his belt, including one with Matt “Guitar” Murphy. Art, back to full strength after a serious car crash two summers ago, brings his deep knowledge and love of all forms of blues, as well as his heart-piercing vocals. While Emily, whos all over the last two Wildcat recordings, brings the “book-learning”....shes carrying a newly minted Masters in Jazz Arranging from UMASS. Charley Scott probably outworks them all, keeping the blues alive in the Orange area close to 200 nights a year!! And new-to-you, but definitely belonging on this all star lineup, Buddy McEarns tweaks familiar pop songs into his own unique vision, and writes his own rilliant material as well. If thats not enough, dual Harp girl action is promised, with Cait Squires and Sarah (Wildkitten) OHalloran hitting the stage!!
