Mathew Staver, Chairman Liberty Counsel Action There is a growing division in Congress. The issue? What to do about ObamaCare. There is no doubt that public support for ObamaCare is plummeting as the launch date gets closer. Fox News is reporting… “A majority of Americans say they believe the new health care law will increase their medical costs and taxes…. The survey found 57 percent of those polled felt the way ObamaCare was being rolled out was ‘a joke.’ Overall, 63 percent of voters believe that the 2010 health care law needs to be changed. [M]ore voters used negative terms to describe the health care overhaul – with 39 percent calling it ‘disastrous’ and 14 percent calling it ‘a step backwards.’” If the American people are so adamantly opposed to ObamaCare and it’s implementation, what’s the problem on Capitol Hill? The answer: Strategy differences. Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is calling for a “Grassroots Army” to rise up and force Congress to defund ObamaCare… Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) is on his own “Defund ObamaCare” tour. Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) has launched a “Don’t Fund It” campaign. Lee is one of a dozen senators, along with over 60 House Republicans, who have said they won’t approve another continuing resolution (CR) unless it defunds ObamaCare. Some Republicans are now calling for a strategy to not increase the debt ceiling as part the Continuing Resolution (CR) – an increase which is necessary to keep the government spending at current levels – according to the spend-happy Obama administration. Other lawmakers are simply calling for a vote to delay the implementation by one year citing the fact that the Obama administration simply isn’t ready! Meanwhile, Speaker of the House, John Boehner (R-OH), is defying the calls from of the majority of Americans to Defund ObamaCare. Senator Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has yet to announce his position on defunding ObamaCare. ++Liberty Counsel Action is petitioning Congress to Delay, Defund, and Defeat ObamaCare – through any means possible! It’s time for the 113th Congress to act according to the will of the American people. A vast majority of us now know that ObamaCare is a horrific law. Enough is enough!
