May Allah forgive us all and give us control over our emotions and tongues. We end up indulging in backbiting when someone has wronged us or stepped over our rights. Sometimes its against our own blood siblings / parents etc..... If you have backbitten someone and you cannot personally ask their forgiveness (for whatever xyz reasons) then you should do the following 3 things: 1. Stop backbiting about them ASAP and make a promise to self that you will never do it again! No matter how right you are and how wrong they are. Pleasing Allah and obeying His command is way above being right or wrong. On the day of judgment when we will be literally fighting over 1 single good deed we cannot overlook how grievous backbiting is in this Dunya . 2. Make sincere duaa for them to Allah - This is such a good heart softener and I speak from personal experience, nothing softens heart more than making Duaa for those who have wronged you. 3. Speak the good you know about them to others, spread their good qualities amongst people. ` ` ` ` #QuranGem O you who believe! Avoid much suspicion, in deeds some suspicions are sins. And spy not neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allah, verily, Allah is The One Who accepts repentance, Most Merciful {Surat Al Hujurat 49: Verse 12} ##SurahGem.. Chapter: Regarding backbiting (al-ghibah) Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah PBUH was asked : Messenger of Allah! What is back-biting? He replied : it is saying something about your brother which he would dislike. He was asked again : Tell me how the matter stands if what I say about my brother is true? He replied: if what you say of him is true, you have slandered him is true you have slandered him, and if what you say of him is not true, you have reviled him. Grade: Sahih (Al-Albani) Sunan Abi Dawud (Also Narrated in Muslim and others) :( - I do not agree with the fool part. We DO NOT address fellow Muslims as fools, even when they are sinning. Lets be humble when correcting someone. If hikmah is missing from Dawah no matter how right and strong your message is, it will not touch hearts or change people.
