Maybe its a good thing that Capital Bowl (formerly West Gate Lanes) has told their fall leagues that they are not wanted in favor of open bowling for the time schools are out. Please read this list of violations found during the November health inspection. This was released December 21, 2014 (today). West Gate Lanes, 2017 Christy Drive, nine critical violations: several ash trays with cigarette butts present on ledge in ice maker room; ready-to-eat potentially hazardous foods not date-marked in refrigerator (chili, taco meat, chopped turkey and ham); no disposable paper towels present at grill hand sink, but common cloth towel present; empty sanitizer bucket present on dish machine; no sanitizer at triple sink; microwave roof has food debris present; interior of slide-door Coke cooler has residues and food debris present, especially walls and fan; ice maker shatter plate has mold-like substance present; no gloves nor utensils for use present at nacho chip and cheese area — and 34 non-critical violations: no sanitizer test kit observed for dish machine; no sanitizer test kit observed for bar triple sink; floor tiles are missing, coming loose, peeling away in back prep room/dish-washing area; holes present in drywall in back storage room/utensil area/mop sink; no hot water obtained in male or female game room restroom hand sinks; grill hand sink cabinet soiled and unkempt; fryers and table holding fryers coated with grease deposits; cabinets in grill area have accumulated dust and debris present; fatigue mats in walk-in cooler filled with soil accumulations; bar keg cooler soiled; no soap provided at grill hand sink; no soap provided at bar hand sink; hand-washing signage absent at hand sinks; moldy paper towel rolls present inside game room women’s restroom vanity; newly installed/moved bar hand sink usage blocked by soda lines lying in sink; no thermometer present in Coke two slide door cooler; no cover present on disposable cup dispenser; leak from dish machine water line into bowl placed underneath; floors soiled with trash and food debris behind back room freezers; floors soiled with grease under fry station area; floors soiled with trash under soda station/ice bin; floors soiled with trash and debris under ice maker; no disposable paper towels provided at grill hand sink; no disposable paper towels provided at bar hand sink; no thermometer present for cook’s use; unprotected lights in back food prep/utensil-washing area; unprotected light bulb in walk-in cooler; walls soiled with food debris and splatter in back storage area; walls soiled with food debris and splatter in front grill area; walls soiled with food and dust around two slide door Coke cooler; ceiling soiled with grease and smoke above fryers; cobwebs present in windows of game room women’s restroom; doors to men’s and women’s bar restrooms do not fully shut; door to game room women’s restroom is not tightly fitting, but gaps open at top and sides.
