Meet Ellen. A short while back a man brought in four baby kittens and said the mother was killed because he saw her attacked by a dog. We took in the four kittens and encouraged him to look for the mother. Later that same day, the gentleman brought her to us. The mother (now named Ellen) was in rough shape had two punctures, one on each side of her body. She need to be watched carefully overnight and we found she had broken/dislocated ribs and a broken sternum as well from the attack. We gave Ellen the medical treatment she needed and reunited her with her babies and she went straight back to caring for them. Ellen has been in foster care with her kittens and is a wonderful and protective mom - likely because of the dangerous area from where they came. Ellens babies are growing and almost ready for spay/neuter and adoption themselves. And Ellen could use a home of her own, without the risks she faced before.
