Meeting Minutes 3/9/14 Members present: Vishal, Jay, Preethi, Nikhila, Divya, Devanshi, Sai Prasanna, and Lisa 1. Holi- Will be on Sunday April 27, 2014- 12-4 pm. Venue has been booked by Vishal and will be on the Heskett Center west lawn. Holi will conclude the activities on campus for Asian Awareness Week. This will be the last event for the semester for AHINSA. CI will be donating food for event. Devanshi is responsible for submitting request form for donated food. she plans to have this accomplished no later than this Friday. AHINSA will also prepare a food or drink to take. Dr. Dsouza suggested mangolassi. If anyone has other suggestions please let us know. Thanks Raj for the newly designed Holi posters and flyers. It looks awesome!!! Jay- will get posters (60) and flyers (200) to print office this week. Hoping for printing to be completed so the posters can be placed around campus Friday 14th. If posters are completed Jay will meet all who can help distribute them around campus @ 5:30 PM @ library. He will keep us posted. We will have some preparations for Holi event on Saturday 26th. Filling water balloons and bags of color. We will post place and time later. Divya and Nikhila will reserve a table to sell tickets for Holi event @ RSC starting on April 7th. Planning to have a table every Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays. 7, 9, 11, 14, 16, 18,... for the first 3 weeks of April. Hope everyone will be able to help with selling tickets for Holi. Asian Awareness Committee is currently having weekly meetings on Thursday evenings at 7pm at library. they are encouraging more AHINSA members participate in this stage of the process. if you are interested and available please attend meetings- represent AHINSA. Currently Devanshi and Sai Prasanna are attending. I plan to start going as well. If you have any questions contact Deva or Prasanna. Interfest is approaching. this event will also be part of Asian Awareness Week on Thursday 24th. AHINSA will have a table for food as well as an information table about our group and activities. More details to follow. Executive Committee Elections will be on march 30-4pm at wheatshocker apt. Voting will be part of our meeting that day. anyone interested in holding an office is encouraged to nominate themselves or someone they feel is qualified for position. These are voluntary positions but they do require dedication and motivation. Only inquire if you are serious and committed to the continued success of AHINSA!! ALL CURRENT EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS ARE REQUESTED TO BE PRESENT FOR THIS MEETING!!!! We will be having a potluck dinner as well bring your favorite dish to share with all. Last thing here. We will be completing the book drive in april-gathering the books and sending them to the collection office. More to follow when date and time is determined.
