Mel would have been the first to tell you, that he wasnt good with children... He liked babies up til about age 2 or 3. Then he didnt really enjoy them again until they were around 16-years-old. However, once the kids reached that mile-stone, he loved to spend time with them. Mel never considered my children as step-children or my grandsons as step-grandchildren....he considered them as his very own, and he told me that many times through the years. When we were out with them, he always proudly introduced them as his children and grandsons, and bragged about them to others...and I thank him for that. I wish I could tell him Happy Fathers Day.... instead, Ill just post this song in his memory.
