Men of the North Forum - Nakazdli First Nation, November 28, 2014. We had a great session; began with a fun silly game, did a presentation on the Sacred Cleansing/Smudge Ceremony, then conducted the Ceremony, talked about the experiences as a single parent, did a presentation on physical wellness and overcoming an illness that is mostly fatal. Addressed the issue of that old school mentality of I dont go to the doctor. We brought the awareness that it is only our time when we have done everything we can do to prevent death, its not right to let illness overtake us without trying to heal...we do not just roll over and die. We have a responsibility not only to our self, but to our family, friends and loved ones. When the work was done, it was time to end the day and program with lots of fun and laughter by running around and acting like a bunch of Crazy Indians through Traditional sports. Great job men; youve honored your Ancestors in every way possible the last 2 days!
