MetroNews Morning News Headlines: As he closes the last of his 30 years in the U.S. Senate, outgoing U.S. Senator Jay Rockefeller says he is grateful to the people of West Virginia. Rockefeller took to the U.S. Senate floor Thursday for a Farewell Address. Republican U.S. Senator-Elect Shelley Moore Capito will take Rockefellers seat in the New Year. The Logan County man accused of punching the Delegate-Elect who pulled his young daughter away from a moving train is apologizing. He says hes sent a letter to Ralph Rodighiero to say hes grateful for what Rodighiero did. The Delegate-Elect says he believes he was guided to the girl who had been left unattended in a car back on Sunday and started walking. Without action, witnesses say they believe the girl, who was crying for her mother, would have tried to crawl underneath a slow-moving train. In Harrison County, more charges have been filed against the doctor accused of fronting a pill mill. Seventy-five year old Doctor Edita Milan of Fairmont is now facing five additional charges -- including maintaining drug-involved premises. Her trial is scheduled for January. Marshall University Head Football Coach Doc Holliday says the prospect of winning a Conference USA Championship, for the first time since the Herd joined the conference, is the only motivation his team needs ahead of tomorrows game. Kickoff for Marshall and Louisiana Tech is set for NOON and rain, some of it heavy, is in the forecast for Game Day in Huntington. Rain is also in the forecast tonight and tomorrow in Wheeling -- the host site for the Super Six Football Championships. The forecast says temperatures will remain in the 40s there as three high school football titles are decided on the field.
