Mike Huckabee Obamacare is based on the premise that Americans - TopicsExpress

Mike Huckabee Obamacare is based on the premise that Americans are too dumb to be trusted with their own health care decisions. So, is there any truth to that?... Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid stuck his foot in his mouth again this week. He tried to defend the many Obamacare deadline delays by implying that Americans are stupid. Reid said hundreds of thousands of people who tried to sign up online kept getting cut off, not because the site stinks, but because they’re “not educated on how to use the Internet.” I think most Americans know how a website works. The only ones who don’t are the ones who built the Obamacare website. But I’ll grant Reid this: many Americans don’t know much about insurance. A USC survey found that 62 percent didn’t know that an HMO restricts your choice of doctors more than a PPO. Forty-two percent couldn’t describe what a deductible was, and 39 percent didn’t understand the relationship between the premium and the deductible. So there’s one good thing about Obamacare: once it’s fully implemented, every American will learn what high premiums and big deductibles and not being able to choose your doctor are all about.
