Mindfulness Part 2 … Why be Mindful? By Lynn Allan Kelly, Kahuna Lomi Lomi First of all I want to say that if you don’t want to change your life for the better then you don’t need to be concerned about being mindful. You needn’t bother reading anymore of this post. In fact, I suggest that you click to something else right this very moment so that you can continue on, with your life unfolding just as it is without any further distraction from me. That is very okay. What a relief huh? You see, we all have comfort zones and many of us aren’t ready to move out of them. Even when they are mostly about being miserable they can still feel comfortable. Years ago I spent years of my life living from a very miserable comfort zone and I wasn’t able to move out of it until the thought of changing felt better than the thought of staying. Anyway, enough about comfort zones … for now. For those of you that want to change your life for the better then you are going to have to be mindful and here’s why. When you aren’t being mindful you are running on autopilot which is how I usually refer to the subconscious program that is in charge and running your life whenever you aren’t being consciously present. If you are one of the few (comparatively speaking) that has a good, positive subconscious program then being on autopilot most of the time is a good thing and it is highly probable that your program already includes being mindful when you need to be. If you are like the majority of us then your subconscious program isn’t as good and positive as it could be, it doesn’t contain the code for being mind when you really need to be. So being on autopilot just results in you experiencing the same old stuff over and over again even when you say you don’t want to. Being mindful allows you to be consciously aware of your pattern of thinking and its consequences which allows you to begin changing it for the better, for a better life.
