Mirwaiz tours city centre reviews arrangements at Municipal Park =>In order to review the arrangements at Muncipal Park Srinagar where All Parties Hurriyat Conference has decided to organize a convention to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Awami Majlis Amal (50 Years of Resistance), Mirwaiz Dr Umar Farooq along with his other party leaders Thursday visited the venue. Reports said as soon as Mirwaiz appeared near Municipal Park, scores of his supporters gathered around him. The supporters boarding in vehicles and riding on bikes amid pro-freedom slogans followed the vehicle in which Mirwaiz was travelling. The supporters led by Mirwaiz toured the city centre roads including Regal Chowk and Maulana Azad Road. Talking to reporters near Regal Chowk, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that he is expecting that government will not this stop them from organizing this convention. He said that state government is not providing the political space to the separatist leaders and is chocking their voice. “The ongoing freedom movement could not be suppressed through power and might. We are fighting for a just cause but unfortunately the government is chocking our voice and did not even allow us to organize peaceful seminars and conventions,” he said appealing people to make Friday’s convention a grand success.(CNS)
