Miss Seychelles…Another World 2014 29-4-2014 Countdown begins! The big question on everyone’s lips is who will be crowned Miss Seychelles … Another World 2014. Excitement is mounting around the country as people eagerly wait to see who among the twelve contenders of this year’s beauty pageant will take home the Miss Seychelles … Another World crown at the Savoy Resort & Spa at Beau Vallon this weekend. On Saturday 31 May 2014 the twelve contestants will put their best foot forward with the aim of catching the eye and winning the hearts of the panel of judges as well as the entire nation for the country’s third edition of the beauty contest. All the contestants are currently following through an intensive training programme that will ensure that the winner can do exceptionally well at the Miss World beauty pageant later this year. Since the beginning of January, the twelve girls have been under the close supervision of experts and professionals, learning tips on how to walk, care for their skin and hair, make-up and grooming, as well as maintaining a proper diet and fitness programme. And to make sure that their training is complete, the girls have worked on their diction as well as attending workshops on their Creole heritage, culture, music and art. Besides the coveted title, the twelve contestants will also have the opportunity to stand out as First Princess, Second Princess, Miss Photogenic, Miss Personality, Miss Talented, Best Sportswomen, Best Evening Gown, Beauty with a Purpose and of the highly popular People’s Choice. Once again this year the ‘People’s Choice’ award will be made through public voting designed to allow everyone to play a direct role in the event. To this end, the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) has partnered with local telecommunication companies Cable & Wireless and Airtel to give members of the public their say in the national event. With only three more days before the finals on Saturday evening, the public is being encouraged to participate in the voting by SMS. Cable & Wireless customers should SMS 9688 to vote, while Airtel customers should SMS 9689. The procedure is simple. Each finalist has been attributed a personal code for the purposes of voting by SMS. All you have to do is choose your favourite contestant and send her personal code to Cable & Wireless or Airtel. For example, should you wish to vote for Contestant Number 1: SMS C1 and send it to 9688 or 9689 depending on your service provider (see the table). TODAY in Seychelles has given its full support and backing to the beauty pageant. We have covered the girls’ every move, presenting them to our readers through our personal interviews which can still be seen on our Facebook page. We will also cover the event on the night. In the run up to Saturday’s finals, TODAY in Seychelles newspaper has been around town seeking the views of members of the public about who they would like to choose for the ‘People’s Choice’ award. Everyone we approached was very excited for the girls and had their own idea about who should be crowned “Miss Seychelles … Another World”. “All the twelve contestants are incredibly beautiful and confident. Do your best and good luck,” said Mr. Neal Servina. Another person who wished to remain anonymous, commented, “I have been reading the interviews in TODAY newspaper and Contestant Number 4 strikes me as being confident and a very beautiful woman. She is at ease with her identity. I admire this!” “Good luck to all twelve finalists. I have already voted for my favourite contestant and wish to keep it a secret but I am sure one lucky girl will go on to represent Seychelles magnificently,” stated another young lady who wished to remain anonymous. The big question on everyone’s lips though remains, “Who will be crowned ‘Miss Seychelles ... Another World 2014’? And who will her two princesses be? Who will take the Miss Photogenic and Miss Personality titles? Who will be awarded the Best talent and Evening Gown and finally who will the public select as the People’s Choice?” Answers are promised by the end of Saturday evening. Meanwhile, with just three more days left, you can still vote. It is very simple. TODAY in Seychelles has labeled photographs of the contestants with their allotted ID numbers. So just get your phone, key in the number of your favourite contestant and SMS this to Cable & Wireless or Airtel. Source: Today in Seychelles
