Mitchell Johnson likely to miss T20 WC Star Australian bowler Mitchell Johnson is likely to miss the upcoming T20 WC in Bangladesh as he recovers from a severely infected big toe on his right foot. Cricket Australia have delayed making a final decision on the star bowlers availability but his departure for the tournament in Bangladesh might be delayed. Johnson is currently undergoing treatment on the infection which has developed after he sustained a cut on his right toe following the third and final Test against South Africa at Cape Town last week. Australian broadcasting channel, News Corp have already reported that the infection is severe enough to put the lanky left arm pacer out of action for at least a month, which definitely rules him out of the tournament Cricket Australias chief medical officer said the 32-year old pacer will be put under observation for the next few days. Mitch has been home in Perth recovering from the Test series against South Africa but has developed an infection as a result of a cut he had on his right big toe after the third Test, said associate professor, Justin Paoloni. He is receiving treatment but his departure to Bangladesh for the T20 WC may be delayed until we are happy that the infection has resolved and his toe fully recovered. Losing the in-form bowler could be a huge loss for the George Bailey led side. Johnson has been terrific form over the past few months, having grabbed 59 wickets from just 8 Tests since the start of the home Ashes against England. He was rested from the ongoing 3-match T20I series and sent back home to Perth. Johnson is also lined up to represent the Punjab franchise in the seventh edition of the Indian Premier League. The tournament is due to start on April 16th, just a few days after the conclusion of the T20 WC.
