Modiji, your challenges at national level affecting common man: corrupt police worsening unmanageable traffic in unorganized cities, no parking available to customers / visitors as it is already occupied by the business workers nearby for whole day. high degree of pollution levels in blown-up cities stopping the emmigration from rural india for lack of basic infrastructure facilities at par with urban india as well as opportunities common citizens corrupt culture where corruption is not only accepted norm but it is rather considered a glory- e.g. giving 20 bucks to escape a 200 traffic violation offence fine; boasting escaping the tax-net wrongfully; rash and rude behaviour on road to go first; careless and casual attitude to work at shopfloor level in nearly all government offices pro-corporate attitude at the cost of common customers even at government organisations. e.g. compare banking facility costs to small account holders pre- and post liberisation, cost to maitain a demat account which is made compulsory even for non-paying scrips and longt erm life insurance contracts. huge black money transactions in land \ housing deals that often leads to Sahara like scams. long-stretching law enforcing and implementing - justice delayed is justice denied- has inculcated in common mind an attitude of disrespect for law even ethics. the drug-insurance-doctors trio mauling people at par with western world priorities decided by politicians rather than the beneficiary public itself- e.g. guj govt offered financial support to corporations for providing electricity, water and roads inside housing societies, but Ahmedabad municipal corporation decided they will allocate budget only for roads and not other two-reason is quite obvious! taxation on senior citizens without offering them free medical facilities/assistance or government pension. What is the rationale for taxing pension income to retired workers who contributed their tax-paid income to provide for their old age? Government has already used their corpus for nation building for many many years? irony is, when you work out the taxability post retirement, in most cases they will fall in the same slab as young wage earner as he will get rebate on long term savings which part will be ridiculously available to an old man also! then why clamour about senior citizens benefits? this is immoral attitude among the government bodies. These are just a few illustrations. The problems are lying deep in the psyche of bossism rather than servitude towards the electing population at all levels of operatives. This is inherited from the hundreds of the slavery years where the ruler always rated the ruled an object of exploitation for his own interests. Our new focus must shift towards the governed rather than the governors.
