Mojave is one of my favorite spots to camp, hike and photograph. I think of it as the Key West of National Park Service managed parks. Like Key West, it just has a lot of quirks, it has a State Park within its borders (hmmm that is closed because of budget cuts), a War Memorial that because of much controversy (and a Supreme Court Ruling) was deeded to the VFW, the largest Joshua Tree Forest in the world (Yeah sorry about that Joshua Tree National Park), a WWII train station and tons of history and desert stuff. Anyway I love this place. So I digress, I have attached a pic taken ~1:30 am Saturday of a Meteor, a Joshua Tree and if you look closely in the top right, that smudge of white is the Andromeda galaxy. Weekend end over, back to work.
