Mom question: (rpb #rn424) Question to group; we just got home - TopicsExpress

Mom question: (rpb #rn424) Question to group; we just got home and out of the NICU with our 3 month old who was born at 23 weeks. She was going great for first few days home, eating and sleeping very well. But the other day she became very raspy and congested sounding. She wouldnt sleep at all through the night and though she was very hungry every time we went to feed her she would take a few gulps and then choke. Shes on oxygen and a pulse oximeter so we know she desats and has bradys once a awhile when shes choking. We went to er the other night and then followed up with our pediatrician. They both seem very unconcerned about this and passed it off, saying mayb its silent reflux. We know something is wrong with her, we know our baby. First off, would we have better luck taking her to a larger hospital with a level 3 NICU unit (to er or just trying to get her seen by a pediatrician)? Or has anyone else had this issue? The poor thing cannot eat more than 20ml at a time. Shes also lost 2oz in two days. We feel lost and that the doctors are not listening to us. Tonight we even recorded her breathing and what she sounds like for proof (bc of course she didnt do it in the er when the doc gave her about 5 minutes of his time). Shes running about 96.4-97 for temp, and has very little urine output.Trying not to be crazy-over reacting parents, but after the long rough road we had in the NICU we dont want to take any chances with her. Thank you for ANY advice at all. (This out of NICU, into real life life is harder than I thought it was going to be)!
