Monday, April 21, 2014 --- “SLCA (2009) to meet with Tourism Ministry officials” The Executive of the Saint Lucia Calypso Association (2009) and Calypso Tent leaders are slated to meet with officials of the Ministry of Tourism, Heritage and the Creative Industries on Tuesday April 22, 2014 at 10.00 am. That meeting will take place at the conference room of the Ministry of Tourism, Heritage and the Creative Industries. There are pertinent matters up for discussion, which include a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Saint Lucia Calypso Association (2009) and the Carnival Planning and Management Agency (CPMA), and the issue of audited financial statements, among other important matters. The delegation from the Saint Lucia Calypso Association (2009), believe this meeting is long overdue and looks forward to a cordial resolution in order to start the Calypso Season. The first Calypso tent is expected to launch on May 24, 2014. [END]
