Moravians call the cemetery “God’s Acre” . . .. They bury - TopicsExpress

Moravians call the cemetery “God’s Acre” . . .. They bury the saints under simple white stones. During Holy Week, beginning today, the Moravians come with brushes and pails to scrub the stones. On Holy Saturday, they put a bouquet of fresh flowers on each one of them. Then on Easter morning, they meet before dawn at the church, then to the sound of a brass band, they march to “God’s Acre” and celebrate the resurrection among the saints. The Great Cloud is honored and not forgotten during Holy Week . . . The world steals our best lines because we dont know we have them. We had The Cloud, the living memory of what has preceded us, before Microsoft.
