More corruption -Just when will it stop... Read more International Animal Rescue Foundation World Action India Vigilance sleuths on Saturday night arrested Debraj Chhatria, a forest officer of Jaloe under Birmaharajpur forest range, for allegedly accepting bribe of `3,000 from a timber trader in Murshundi village. Sources said the forest officer had seized a timber-laden vehicle of Bimbadhar Sahu belonging to Murshundi area from a nearby forest a few days back. Debraj allegedly demanded `3,000 to hand over the vehicle to Sahu and settle the case. Sahu approached Sonepur Vigilance sleuths who laid a trap and caught the officer red-handed while accepting the bribe. Vigilance DSP of Sonepur Laxman Jal said involvement of three more persons of the Department is suspected.
