More memories from my 81yr old mum (I know much if not all of this stuff has been previously posted, BUT, I cant search on this Android Tablet, like I would on my work laptop - so apologies if im boring anyone) My mam has Parkinsons, so is unable to do any of this herself, speech is very difficult to follow even for me - but she has been so animated since I showed her this site last night - its incredible the memories its evoked for her - quite touching actually - so thanks for you patience. Her parents moved here from Macclesfield in 1922 and they settled in cocket initially. My mother was born in Fern St Cwmbula in 1933 - she can vaguely remember that house. In about 1937 my Grandfather Harold Ray (who had his own business as a sign writter and he taught art at night school), built a house in Glanmor Park Drive - it was I suppose a designer house - with windows that curved round corners & a flat roof. They then moved to a house in Cherry Grove - she thinks it was called Langland? Any pics or memories I can show her would be greatly appreciated :-)
