Morning lads. At our last committee meeting it was raised by Natalie Plavenieks that we need to create a little more competition between players. Captain Joel Mason was fully behind the idea and had mentioned that his mom and Kevin had had an idea to provide their own player ratings from each game...so one of the outcomes is something Lyn Rogers and Klr Tiling (Kevin) will be doing for every game they attend. I will continue to do my player ratings on the website but to add a further point of view and probably a fairer view as it can be difficult when I am playing myself. They will be sending me their views. I think this is a bloody good idea as it will make us all realise that we are no longer playing football for ourselves but we are playing for our fans. A good number of people come week in, week out and we need to perform for them. The below is the first one from yesterdays games against Shelfield. View from the side - C.Weaving - 6 - Confidence was hit after the first goal C.Gordon - 8 - Committed performance, directed the back four well. S. Mitchell - 7 - Gained confidence when encouraged by players and supporters alike, clearly a confidence player. B.Hookey - 8 - Solid performance despite the odd sloppy square pass putting the team under pressure. C.Wright - 8 - Typically committed but less effective out of his natural front position following the substitution. A.Hanney - 8 - Typical performance, total commitment W.Jones - 7 - Hard to make an impact from the sub position J. Mason - 8 - Better second half as saw more of the ball and was committed in getting back into position following an attack. S.Wallis - 9 - Great performance including some delightful passing. M.McCullagh - 9 - Strong performance making important challenges when required to do so. A.Poynton - 7- No lack of effort but drifted forward at times leaving Sean exposed. J.Twist - 8 - Solid and committed, deserved his goal. All in all possibly the best team performance for weeks which was really enjoyable to watch. 3 - 1 flattered them massively with Wych Elm definitely holding their own. Team now need to stick together and use this performance to increase team morale.
