Most African Americans claim the fact that they came from west African countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone etc... I have not heard of people saying we came from Sudan, Libya or Ethiopia. Well, this is very interesting because when people are tracing their lineages to some specific countries it means that they are conscious from where they came from. The only thing I want to point out is that if yall claim that most slaves came from west African countries and yet there werent Ghana, Nigeria or Sierra Leone during slavery then we need to find out how African people were connected to each other. African people were living in kingdoms and empires; NOT countries. You also need to understand that African people were migrating all over of Africa. Thats why you can even find some Ghanaian tribes in Togo. You can even find some people with the same names in different African countries such as Cameroon and Gabon, Congo Kinshasa - Congo Brazzaville etc... The bottom line is that if we claim the fact that our ancestors came from west African countries and yet there werent west Africa in that time, then we need to find out exactly where our people came from. -A.B
