Most of you already know that I suffered the loss of my sweet mother last month... I am writing this message because I would like to let those who care know that I am doing all right and that I do truly thank you all for your love, compassion and sympathy throughout the hardest year I have been through in life thus far. To all of you women out there who plan on being a mother one day, I want you to know this... The love that you give your children, the amount of energy and time you put into them, will not only exponentially grow but will come back to you later in life when you need it the most. That is the beauty of life. The peace and acceptance that I saw within my mother when we knew her time was approaching was confusing at first, but very heartwarming as we all knew her pain and misery were coming to a close. There is no doubt that I think it was unfair for her to be taken away from me, my sister and family at only 47 years old. But looking at it like that will only prolong the sadness and depression. One of the last things I told my mother while she was still coherent was that I was going to make her proud, which she responded with just enough energy to lip back you already have. Mary West
