Mount Lofty League Mens Match Report:- Round 10 Mount Lofty vs South Adelaide. World League Round. Saturday the 28th of June. For you in a joking sense Mark N. We won they lost, the end. Hope thats enough? With just a touch more, the scores were 3 sets to 1. 25-27, 25-16, 25-16, 25-20. Really nice mood and atmosphere to win the game so clinically and go into the National Junior break in winning form. Some big changes in our line up with Birthday Boy James Frolow and his Reserves Captain Henry Breen stepping it up big time. We lost another gun volleyballer to the Australian World Beach program, although his Norwood Beach colleagues played their game allegedly against the Australian team coaches wishes. This caused a little confusion, but not for James and Henry who just did their job and did it really well! They both turned it up a notch to hit, pass and block at crucial times and with significant consistency. Great job boys and deserved credit. Some positive stats from todays game show our dominance and how that was achieved. Defence today was focused on and achieved, with clean crisp kills to close points out. Captain Rory Welsh led the way with 5 aces out of 15 in total and 12 kills, passing at 2:35 out of 3. With good support from Brandon Long 10 kills, passed at 2:31 and the best defence seen this year. Clean precise passes when we needed them and he owned position 6 in defence. Isaac Binder hit 9 kills through the middle, Henry Breen 10 kills, and James Frolow 8 kills. The 2 most hugest biggest massivest blocks ever, were from Henry Breen. 2 points in a row shutting down my old scholar, South Adelaides Luke Bonser, assisted by James Frolow 3 massive kill blocks, Jordan Colotti 1 block, Patty Rogers 1 block, and David Heyneman 1 crucial block. The best stat is our siding out % at 72%, and holding South to 29% through better defence and cleaner finishing. Tony Scott still passes at a good consistent 2:35 and held his own court, in the World League Exhibition game, along with Brandon Long tonight, at the Adelaide Arena. The were a credit to their team and the club, along with all our junior state representatives who also played in the exhibition games. We now break and return to the latter stage of the season on Saturday the 19th of July. We wish our Mount Lofty juniors all the best for the National Junior Volleyball titles in Canberra next month and make sure you bring home your gold medal. Mike Chemny Mount Lofty League Mens Coach 2014 And then we got to watch this, what a great day at the office! Shame the results didnt go Australias way in the big game. And then a massive party to boot. Birthday celebrations for James Frolow, and the Fantastic Mount Lofty Pub Crawl organised by Henry Breen, which was huge and proof with some very sore heads today possibly such as Rory Welsh, Jordan Colotti, Isaac Binder, Josh Lowrie, Tony Scott, Brandon Long, David Heyneman, Ben Williamson, Jake McIntyre, Patty Rogers.
