Moving on with my review of the Golden Decade of Music - TopicsExpress

Moving on with my review of the Golden Decade of Music 1965-1974Golden Decade of Music 1965-1974, where I am selecting the artists alphabetically and playing selections of their songs I liked or found influential from that Golden Decade. The next artist I am selecting to play a couple from is The Cowsills, a singing group from Newport, RI. They specialized in harmonies and the ability to sing and play music at an early age. The band originally consisted of only 3 of the Cowsill brothers, Bill, Bob, and Barry, eventually adding John. After their initial success, the brothers were joined by their siblings Susan and Paul and their mother Barbara. The Cowsills were the inspiration for the 1970 launch of the television show The Partridge Family. The first song I am selecting is The Rain, the Park & Other Things, a song with music and lyrics co-written by Artie Kornfield and Steve Duboff. The Cowsills recorded the song for their album The Cowsills, releasing it as a single, taking it to #2 on the Billboard charts. The Cowsills did not play on their earliest recordings. Studio musicians were brought in to provide the music for this song and many of the earlier singles. For this song, musicians included Gene Bianco on Harp, Vinnie Bell and Al Gorgoni on guitar, and Buddy Saltzman on drums. https://youtube/watch?v=2DD6NjufANo
