Mrs. Combs 5th grade social studies classes at Cane Ridge Elementary hosted an Entrepreneur Fair last month. This was a culminating event for an economics unit. The students were able to have a real world experience with economic concepts such as supply, demand, and profit. The students sold items such as sweet treats, popcorn, grab bags, monogrammed items, spoon jewlery and more. After 4 days of selling their items and taking out the money for their initial investment, their money was ready to be counted. The total came to $1400.00. Wow. Each class voted on organizations in which to donate supplies. Of course PAWS was the top vote getter!! The students and staff were thrilled to present PAWS director, Robin Vincent, with over $300.00 of food and supplies for the animals at the shelter. The students were so excited about seeing two adorable pups and loading up the van with the supplies. The faculty and staff at Cane Ridge Elementary are so proud of all of the 5th grade for understanding how important it is to give to those in need.
