Mum question:Ive been tandem feeding my 2 sons for 12 weeks. Although Ive found it hard on occasion Ive stuck with it. My little one is thriving but Im having some problems with my 21 month old aggressive breastfeeder for want of a better term. Im not sure how common this is for breastfeeding toddlers. My son wants booby constantly and its almost to the point of obsession. When I offer him the breast he laughs a bit manically and does a little dance. Cute but scary!! Im actually nursing him more than my 3 month old and thats not an exaggeration. Quite often I find I cant get him to do things like have a bath unless he jumps on first and he will rip at my top and try to latch on at any given opportunity. Sometimes when I do say no he bites me, hits me and pulls my hair and occasionally hits his baby brother. The tandem feeding is an extra obstacle as Im finding it hard to set boundaries (I.e 2 feeds a day) when he sees me feeding my 3 month old. Im aware that pushing boundaries is a normal part of development, as is a certain amount of aggression. Ive tried to be as understanding as possible with regards to the emotions hes going through as a toddler and a new big brother but I feel the balance has shifted and Im not enjoying nursing him any more. Is weaning the only option or do any breastfeeding veterans have any advice? Help!!
