My Cousin Vinny Hiking Boots My expedition was a three-day - TopicsExpress

My Cousin Vinny Hiking Boots My expedition was a three-day affair covering over 26.6 miles of primeval wild forest. On the second night I again set camp. Making a campfire was necessary to stay warm during this cold backcountry evening. My high top hiking boots were soaked as were my wool socks. Seemed like a good idea to put the boots within a safe distance of the campfire to dry them out. Thankfully back up socks kept my arthritic feet warm. My nutritional provisions included Isagencis, which lightened up my backpack and prevented food scent for wildlife. It is also conducive to “leave no trace”. Whilst preparing my dinner shake at the water’s edge, I noticed my campfire was producing a surging glow. Oh boy, my boots were ablaze …. Totally fried! So Not Good. Improvise. My arthritic feet can be a daunting experience whilst hiking in the best of boots. With hiking boots now looking like charcoal, I need to improvise for the final 9 miles of rugged hiking that lay ahead. So what to do? Wool socks and duck tape. I made hiking boots out of my back up wool socks and crafted some rather unique hiking footwear. Improvise. My handcrafted boots made of thick wool socks and a robust amount of duck tape carried me home to safety less injury.
