My Dad, Robert Grant Blake ♥March 21st, 1913- September 2nd, 1969 ▪ One hundred and one years ago today, on either a wagon train or a very primitive cabin ( I have been told both versions of the story) Robert Grant Blake was born in Cando, North Dakota. Just to think of those many years ago in relation to my dad being born is unreal. Mainly for me, because of the very few years he was alive in my life time. He was taken from us way to early. All who know us are familiar with how we lost him. That is not the reason for this post I am trying to write today... My reason is to celebrate his life and 101st birthday‼ He was a wonderful dad, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. The sweet stories told to me by family members have brought smiles, laughter and tears to me all at the same time ♥Dad spent so many years away from us and died so young, I never really had the opportunity to celebrate him on his birthday. So, as silly as this may seem to many. I want to do just that on this March 21st a day special to me for as many years as I have been aware of his birthday. Please any family with memories of my dad or, just want to comment please respond to this honorary 101st Birthday of my Dad.
