My Dear Son Amore , Today you are Seven .This seems incredible, nearly as impossible as reconciling that you Amore is the same as the baby I took home from the hospital seven years ago. It seems like yesterday that I rocked you in my arms until you fell asleep. You’re growing up too fast YOUNG MONI. I am not given to celebration of birthdays but every year I am naturally drawn into it to celebrate the peace, joy you bring. We both have come to have a motto “failure is not an option”; I have a moral contract with you; with 18years and 21years challenges while you keep reminding me that before 18years you will win the challenges. Mine is to provide the enabling environments and foundations to achieve you highs. Together we will build a new nation full of peace, harmony and happiness. I am your Biggest Fan Being your dad is the greatest privilege in the world. I am been told all the time that you’re my clone, a bona fide mini-me. If only they knew how proud it makes me to hear that. At the same time, it’s terribly frightening that someone in the world has my DNA, along with the tendency to reproduce my quirks, gestures and attitudes. Thankfully, your mom’s DNA helps to balance that out. That’s the beauty of God’s system. Two flawed and feeble human beings reproduce a blend of themselves in someone who has a lifetime to live life better than they did. My boy, you blow me away with your compassion and gift of mercy. I guess my good DNA has rubbed off on you. You may be quiet at times, but I know your brain is churning. You have already developed an instinct and desire to reach out to those that have less than you. Whether a fatherless friend or the kid that just does not fit in. Your innate feeling of protection over your sister is incredible. You will protect her from me, even when I’m coming down on her for something terrible she did to you. Please continue to do this. So much about you is surprising and special to me, but nothing more so than your capacity to love. Your love is huge and boundless. Always know destiny involves other people. God has a purpose and plan for your life Son. Leave your mark by loving each and every person your life touches, those who love you and those who don’t. Love has no conditions. It expects nothing in return. It gives freely, multiplies and grows. Do this and everything else will work itself out. Son as you learn to love others, don’t forget that your love for them can go only as deep as your love for yourself. Not a self-obsession love. Be ready to create your own path in life while I stand strong by you; create a home of security and love, laughter and nourishment, where you can cry without fear, grow without judgment, and discover without prejudice. Even though I have failed at times. Am human. Happy birthday Son. I love you so much and can’t wait to see what the future holds.The legacy your life will create. So let go get them! Rout the world!
