My Name is John Dolog my son Paul Dolog, was a proud member of the Baxter Vfd, he joined when he was 15 years old as a Junior Firefighter. He was a senior at Fairmont Senior High School and Marion Co. Vo-Tech center. He was looking forward to graduation and beginning his lifes journey which included A life of public service as a Firefighter. He was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma on April 04, 2014 two days before his 19th birthday. The cancer was detected in his lungs, liver, spleen, kidneys and bones. Paul started aggressive chemotherapy on April 5, during the second round of chemo he began experiencing severe breathing difficulties and could not continue the treatments. On April 9th, Paul underwent open chest surgery to remove a softball size tumor from his lung. Paul never regained consciousness and passed away on April 20th 2014. I am disabled and my wife Linda was working only part time, therefore we had no life insurance for Paul. The Baxter VFD has held a dinner and boot drive to held us pay for his final expenses, but we need help.
