My Pastor has invited me to read this I created for our congregations Christmas Eve service just before communion: --------------------------------------------------------- I considered the spiritual meaning of the Light of Creation as spoken of in the beginning and realize that the Truth of the Word of God made flesh in Jesus Christ is the light of Genesis. I considered that Christ is the beginning and end of all things. That the beginning according to our timeless Lord was not as it seems to us, in the far past but rather right in the middle of what we call time; time reaching both forward and back from the cross like the waters that fled from the staff of Moses. That light first created dawned over the place Jesus was born, came to rest in Him as witnessed by John the Baptist, taught and healed and preformed signs in the life of Christ, was crucified and shattered the darkness of the grave in His resurrection, raised to heaven at His ascension to there burst and be sprinkled into the hearts of all who believe in His name, the Lord our God Jesus Christ. The Light of Creation........ Oh Star of Grace what is your light that shone from heaven that Holy night? Through time and space from the promise of God, You pierce mans heart to give Holy Sight. From beginning You dawned and through ages so dark You labored it done. The beginning and end all rolled into one, the night You were born Gods promised one! You herald the start of redemption. In You Jesus Christ, Gods perfect Son, that day on the cross salvation has come! And now that light shines through us. So Christ came into the world, the Light of creation and God hovered over the water as He was baptized coming to rest in Jesus when all things required for the salvation of righteousness were finished. In me Christ Jesus come! Genesis 1:1-4 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. Genesis 2:1-3 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. Matthew 3:16-17 When Jesus had been baptized, he immediately came up out of the water. Suddenly, the heavens opened up for him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him. John 19:30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, It is finished. With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. Philippians 2:14 ...so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. Revelation 22:17 I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star. The Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let the one who hears say, Come. And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost. Through us Lord Jesus come!
