My beloved brothers and sisters, I have been following events - TopicsExpress

My beloved brothers and sisters, I have been following events unfolding in Narok County and the kind of barrage of criticism towards the governor, His Excelleny, Samuel ole Tunai. To start with, there were allegations that he has nominated individuals to his executive committee "from outside maa commnity". Secondly, certain members of the civil society accused him he may not carry out his mandate effectively because there may some conflicts of interest. The last time i checked, a case has been filed in court seeking the court interpretation on this matter. Thirdly, i am aware there is also an election petition challenging the election of Mr. Samuel ole Tunai as the bonafide Governor for Narok. Lastly and most recently, a group of youths are now collecting signatures to remove Tunai out of office in what they term as nepotism. Whilst i do not want to seen to be taking sides in the whole debacle, kindly allow me to say the following; 1. The prerogative to choose who to hire or fire lies squarely with the Governor. it is up-to the select committee of the Narok County Assembly to scrutinize the nominees suitability to hold office to which they are nominated to occupy. 2. As for the matter in court, allow the law to run its full course. 3. I do not at any moment trying to suggest that the youths from Narok County have no role to play in the governance of their county but as they do, they must exercise caution and restraint as some of these reckless utterances always spur ethnic tensions.
