My daughter Avi was born Saturday at 2:16 AM this weekend. Now I have gotten home and had the opportunity to spend some time with her and Jenna Fairbanks recouping. I have realized two things that are very unexpected with being a daddy and they are.... My worst experience and best experience in these two days of being a dad! The worst thing about this all up to this point is something I never thought about really. I figured it wasnt a big deal and focused more on other things before hand. The worst thing I have experienced through all this is the labor process. Not because its to painful or I think Jenna cant handle it or we had a bad experience or anything in fact it went super super smooth (Thank you God). The hardest part was HER pain. She had to go through HUGE amounts of pain and me as her husband and support could do NOTHING about it. I as her man and her support (Im sure all you men can relate to this in supporting your women) was helpless to take any of the pain away. I wish that I could have swooped in and stolen all the pain and taken it for her....no such luck. Never thought about that before hand how incapable of helping them us guys really are during labor. We just have to be there and support them as much as humanly possible and pray! Pray that they get the strength to work through it and pray that it goes quick. I admire my beautiful wife for doing what she did so bravely. I admire women for being so damn strong. Amazing! The best thing so far that I have experienced is daddy time with my little girl. Avi loves skin on skin and when she is cranky she just lays on my chest and is out like a light. AWW! Dude nobody can prepare you for the feeling of your little angel asleep on your chest like that! She is just perfect! Absolutely the most amazing feeling as a dad is to comfort and be there for my daughter. She is making me bonkers! haha I dont know what to say but dang God blessed us with an amazing healthy little girl and I give all of that to him! So thankful! Excited to be a dad! Best most focused feeling in the world! Thank you God for this blessing!
