My favourite predator, Thylacoleo the pouched-lion. It is one of the only predators in history to regularly take on prey much larger than it, solo. Using its crazy cano-molars, a blade like row of tooth visible where normally you would find pre-molars and canines. The lack of canines is unique among mammal predators, and for a while mislead scientists into think Thylacoleo was a herbivore, particularly, a melon specialist. It was not until Steve Wroe and his team did bio-mechanical analysis of bite strength and skull stress tolerance that they discovered the enormously powerful bite of Thylacoleo, several times more powerful than any cat. The strategy used to prey was simple, run up to a large prey animals, viciously bite them with your huge bolt-cutter teeth, run out of range and wait for them to bleed out and die. My man.
