My fellow Navajo people, we need to think about increasing the council back to the 88 members. Right now we have one person representing 5 chapters. When you ask any person in those 5 chapters where their representative is? 9 out of 10 will not know. How can we the people discuss the affairs of the business of government with its conducting officials? We cant if no one knows how to contact it own government. We tried it this way and its just flat out not working. There is too much power and money with too few. This will only make the temptation of greed an irresistible one. Increasing the council will also allow other council members to check and balance each other. Eliminating the corruption threshold that seems to hinder our leaders to commit a crime against their own people.
