My friend Mr Adam Harvey (whom I admire this side of idolatry) has provided a handy tutorial series on the pronunciation of the thunder words of FINNEGANS WAKE. Adams show Dont Panic, its only Finnegans Wake was the highlight of my summer. His presentation is casual and informal yet intelligent and well-informed (it is interesting to see the root inform employed twice, to different purposes) - and here he provides a great service indeed. There are 10 such words to be found at the Wake, I take on faith that they consist of 100 letters each, though one may stretch for 101. Frankly, its challenge enough for me to enumerate the items in any single list. But here we go, and just think of the oohs and ahhs youll generate when, at the Yuletide office party, you nonchalantly let this roll off your tongue! In an age of conspiracy theories, Adam and I are conspiring to bring the Wake to an even greater audience. For the whole series, visit youtube and enter joycegeek in the search box. Like many a Joycean, I have his webpage address somewhere on my desk but . . . Thanks, Adam, and Wake On! https://youtube/watch?v=TV3vT5nW_I4
