My grandmother in the US is dealing with changes to Medicare and I - TopicsExpress

My grandmother in the US is dealing with changes to Medicare and I admit I continue to be flabbergasted that people still support the system in the US. She has been charged thousands in extras that Medicare wont cover and yet she was not given a choice in taking them or not. How is that an extra if its a must for the patient to endure? Or are hospitals there just bilking older patients thinking they can get away with it? Shes lucky she can afford the bill right now but even shes declared she wont go to a hospital again because of it! How is this ethical or helpful???
