My oncologist was so busy today, it was crazy. I understand that he only comes here once a week but wow, he looked like a chicken running around with its head cut off. I sat in the waiting room for over an hour before being taken back to a room. I felt very sorry for an older gentlemen there, they found out that he had mets to the spine and that it is terminal. They said they were going to do radiation therapy to help with his pain. His family was sitting next to me, so not hard to overhear. I did help them with directions to the Cancer Center in Bloomington, been there once. You cannot sit in that office and not have empathy for everyone in there, they are either fighting or have fought cancer or have a family member or friend who is..cancer is terrible and not only for the person diagnosed. I wanted to go and give each one of them a big hug! I know some of my family has had a hard time with my diagnosis as well. Cancer sucks.
