She is like a merchant ship bringing food, medicines and family needs from afar. She provides for her entire household from morning to night with both physical and emotional nutrition. She considers a need and provides for it with her skill and care. She does her work vigorously her making her body and soul strong for her tasks. She sees to it that her works are profitable and her lamp does not go out at night. In her hand and heart she holds her tools and grasps them to perform her work. She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. When it storms she has no fear, she has prepared her household for the weather. She makes coverings for her bed, she is covered in fine linen and purple. Her husband is respected at the city gate where he takes his seat with the elders. She makes gifts for families and friends and supplies emotional support for many. She is clothed in strength and dignity and can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She oversees the affairs of her household and does not eat of the bread if idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also and he praises her. Many women do noble things but she surpasses ALL of them. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting. A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Recognize her works and give her the rewards she has earned. Let her be praised at the city gate.
