NDTF FELICITATES DELHI MPs and UNION MINISTERS. NDTF organised a get together of teachers to felicitate newly elected MPs and Union Ministers of HRD and Health. All the MPs and Ministers graced the occasion. Sh Vijay Goel newly elected MP to Rajya Sabha also attended.Two MPs Ms. Meenaxi Lekhi & Sh Manoj Tiwari who were out of station sent messsges of support to NDTF. The function was attended by over 400 teachers including senior professors snd principals. All speakers emphasised the fact that fyup, forceably introduced by the vice chancellor without any indepth and comprehensive discussion and debate, needs to be rolled back.Whereas all MPs assured to seriously pursue Delhi BJP stand of rollback, Mr. Udit Raj emphasised the fact that fyup was in violation of the national policy on education which mandates 10+2+3 .VC Dinesh Singh is raising the issue of autonomy of university only to cover his tracks. No university can be allowed to violate the national policy decided by the Indian Parliament. Besides, fyup is in violation of UGC approved Graduate Programmes.Fyup doesnt even exist in the ugc regulations. Delhi is the only central university to have 4 years programme. The courses of study under fyup have diluted the sanctity of du degrees. All MPs agreed to lead a delegation to MHRD and Visitor to prevent violation of national policy by du. Sh Vijay Goel dwelt upon the dictatorial attitude of the vice chancellor . The vc thinks he is the sole proprietor of the university.He had been faithfully serving the cause of congressmen like Kapil Sibal , Shashi Tharoor and other important congressmen and his entire arrogance emanated from his closeness to congress bigwigs. Speakers ,including Dr. Rakesh Sinha- an articulate RSS idelogue and a du teacher, were particularly critical of nefarious role of vcs lieutenants like Prof. Umesh Rai.For the first time in the history of du the university became a den of caste politics of the lowest level and of some other blatant negative traits. High university offices were converted into departments of dirty tricks. Appointments are being made on un academic considerations. Thousands of teachers have been kept under slavery as ad hocs so that they can serve the interests of crony congress groups in league with university authorities. Such people are now desperately trying to come close to Sangh and bjp leaders. Earlier MHRD Ms. Irani assured she will thoroughly examine all the issues and take appropriate and prompt decision. She also invited an ndtf delegation to meet her on Monday to discuss the universities based issues.She assured she is seized of the issues, particularly fyup, raised by ndtf and abvp . Dr. Harshvardhan being the Delhi bjp President had ben in constant touch with ndtf and abvp and is well aware of the university situation. Others who addressed the meeting included MPs Sh.Pravesh Varma, Sh. Ramesh Vidhuri, Sh Mohsn Giri. The response of all MPs and Ministers was very encouraging.
