NETIQUETTE is a set of rules, conventions, behaviors that are acceptable when interacting on the Internet. The details of these guidelines vary from chat room-to-chat room, from forum-to-forum and from blog-to-blog. Generally, netiquette calls on us to conduct ourselves as socially conscious beings when on the Internet, just as we would if we were face-to-face. Talk to people the way you would like to be spoken to. Everyone is looking at you on line, so beware of the image you present of yourself. Dont abuse this power you are given to speak to a large audience freely. There are a few others. If you wont walk up to me and call me a thief in person, do you think it is alright to do it because you cannot see me on the Internet? It shows the culprit to be a very unfair, unethical, disrespectful, and an abusive show off. Basically, it seems like we should give respect to others as fellow Liberians, no matter how rich or poor, what county or ethnicity we are members of, what political party we support or what religion we are part of. Our courts, business dealings, government affairs should also be conducted with mutual respect of laws, rules and norms. This is a good thing for the country. The society will be all the better for it, if some netiquette and etiquette in all aspects of life were practiced. This is simply a demonstration of good character to practice good netiquette. The country is a reflection of its people. If each of us demonstrates good character, no matter where we are, this is reflected in our national character as country.
